Every year, in July, during Ivan Kupala's national folklore holiday, on picturesque banks of the biggest in Ukraine lake Svityaz, that in Volhyn, the festival of Ukrainian variety songs "On Svityaz waves" takes place.
      The unique natural landscape, non-polluting district, beauty of a nature, a fertile climate, the gentle sun, curative water of lake Svityaz' gave a push for organizers to put into life an idea of holding of Ukrainian variety songs festival - competition.
      The idea of this cultural - art new in our state project belongs to known in Ukraine and behind its borders director, the honoured worker of arts of Ukraine Vitaly Ivanytsky.
      The founder and main organizer of the project in Ukraine is creative firm " Idea " from Lutsk.
      Originality of the given festival is, that for the first time in Ukraine the organizers have made a step to unite modern variety songs with folk customs, ceremonies and holidays.
      The final concert of festival winners ever year is included in Ivan Kupala's folklore mass holiday, and also it turns into really national holiday on which thousands of people of different age categories from all Ukraine and neighbouring states are present.
      The festival is atypical not only on a creative plan, a successful place of realization, but also that participants of festival together with sponsors, representatives of the mass information have a remarkable opportunity to have a rest, uniting concert performances with various excursions, with bathing in non-polluting lake, walks in a wood and others.
      The festival takes place on water and banks of lake Svityaz', while celebrating a holiday of Ivan Kupala (that has its individuality, originality and beauty) and unites in itself a modern variety song with folk customs, ceremonies and holidays enriches the cultural inheritance of Ukrainian people and convinces the youth, that roots of the Ukrainian variety song derive from national folklore.
      The festival constantly supports contacts to participants and popularizes them and after its end, invites executors to participation in different concerts art actions, festivals taking place both in Ukraine, and in other countries.
      In different years participants of the festival were executors from all Ukraine, and also from other countries - Russia, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, France, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Georgia, Byelorussia, Bulgaria, Ruanda, Borundia,USA.
      The purpose of realization is opening of the gifted young talents, expansions of cultural, art, youth relations in the international community.
      Executors may take part in festival from all regions of Ukraine and other countries of the world, aged from 8 till 45 years.
      Participants on festival may act as the soloist, a duet, a trio, a quartet, vocal-tool group (up to 5 persons).
      Participants act in a genre of popular variety music and in two competitive categories: children's (aged - from 8 till 17 years) and adult (aged – from 17 till 45 years).
      Applicants from Ukraine on an own choice offer Organizing committee only two songs (pieces of music about 10 minutes) and necessary in Ukrainian, participants from other states - two songs in their language and one song in the Ukrainian language.
      To participate in festival it is necessary to send in Organizing committee not later June, 20 the application form with a short summery about himself, qualitative musical soundtracks (A cassette, a minidisk or a CD) in variants (+) and (-).
      The prize-winning fund of festival is not less than 20 000 hrn. All participants are awarded with special prizes and gifts.
